Synopsis
In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks Hollywood’s starlets, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past. shirt is a reference to Yes, a men’s pornographic magazine published in the United States featuring explicit nude photographs. The Bette Davis quote shown at the beginning of the film is misquoted.

It is actually “Until you are known in my profession as a monster, you will not be a star.” Maxine Minx: Do you know what happened to the last person who tried to kill me? I bashed her fucking head in.. In keeping with the film’s 80s aesthetic, after the credits, a “Be kind rewind” sticker is displayed, as in many video stores. But the character deserved a better ending. The stakes didn’t feel high enough. I’m a fan of Kevin Bacon, but his character wasn’t threatening at all. He was more comedic (in an annoying way) and got way too much screen time.
The detectives were one-dimensional characters
and the ending was anticlimactic. I would have liked to see something more Tarantino-esque. But I can’t blame the filmmakers for that. It’s not a bad movie by any means.
All the elements were there
